Professor Richard Allsop - Centre for Transport Studies at UCL

Richard Allsop is Emeritus Professor of Transport Studies at University College London (UCL), where he contributes to research, consultancy, advisory work and postgraduate training, having been the Head of Transport Studies at UCL from 1976 to 1997. His principal personal research interests are in road traffic management and road safety, but he has also directed and contributed to research in a range of other aspects of transport studies. Since handing on the leadership of transport studies at UCL to younger colleagues, he has combined continuing research with a widening national and international advisory role, especially on road safety policy and its implementation.

David Anderson - Transport Scotland

David Anderson is Head of the TEAR team, which is the Transport Economics Analysis and Research team within the Strategy and Investment directorate of Transport Scotland. The team is made up of transport professionals and economists, and provides support across Transport Scotland. This includes managing the Strategic Transport Projects Review, which included the Forth Replacement Crossing Study. He is responsible for the projects managed by the team, and each day presents new challenges, ranging from briefing Ministers and representing Transport Scotland in its role as a centre of excellence to managing the team through its four Branches and providing direction to the projects. Before joining Transport Scotland in January 2007, David Anderson worked for Arup Scotland, where he was responsible for the Planning, Transport and Environment teams. During his career, he has worked across a wide range of projects, including the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, the Skye Crossing and Scotland's National Indoor Arena, as well as on private-sector projects including the Leith Docks Development Framework.

Professor Malcolm Buchanan - Colin Buchanan & Partners

Professor Buchanan is the Director of Colin Buchanan & Partners, as well as a Visiting Professor at TRI, Edinburgh Napier University. Malcolm was TRI's first Chairman, and stepped down as Chair in December 2005. Malcolm previously worked at Greater London Council in a variety of posts including Senior Research Officer and Principal Planner. Malcolm is a chartered engineer with a masters degree in transportation and traffic planning, and has particular interetsts in in the application of economics to transport policy.

Mr John Cameron CBE - Independent Consultant

John Cameron was the Chairman of Scotrail and Member of the British Railways Board from 1990 to 1996. He is currently the Director of South West Train and Director of Island Line as well as a Member of the Safety Review Group.
