Dryport Project Lead Partner Visit to Edinburgh

Scottish Dryport partners TRI and SEStran welcomed a visit by the lead partner Vastra Gotaland to Edinburgh on 12-13 August 2009.

TRI and SESTran are responsible for developing the Scottish Intermodal Gateway Network (SIGN) idea within the project.

Christian Bergman from lead partner Vastra Gotaland in Sweden arrived in Edinburgh on Wed 12th August along with Dryport Project Manager Dirk Harmsen, Leif Bigsten from Dryport Skaraborg, Richard Morton (Dryport Communications Officer) and John Winn from Haven Gateway also joined the group.

A project meeting was held in the SESTran office, led by SEStran chair Russell Imrie, followed by a visit to the ports of Grangemouth and Rosyth.

On Thursday the delegation visited TRI for a presentations by Gordon Wilmsmeier and SESTran on the latest research conducted by the Scottish partners and a discussion of future directions for the project, including ways to deepen transnational research connections.
